Micromirror array for adaptive optics
AbstractThe objective of this project is to build an adaptive micro-optical systems using a 2D micromirror array adaptively controlled through digital signal processing algorithms implemented in reconfigurable hardware (FPGA)
Project DescriptionAdaptive optics finds numerous applications in astronomical imaging, retinal imaging, microscopy high power laser or free space optical telecommunication. The adaptive, closed loop control of micromirror arrays is able to compensate optical aberrations due to turbulence or other physical imperfections. The orientation of microfabricated tunable micromirrors is individually tuned using the signal provided by wavefront sensors in a multi-feedback adaptive control scheme. ![]() Faculty Supervisor(s)Edmond.CretuResearchers(s)Research Area(s) |
